Sash Window Painting and Restoration

Here at Renosash we believe in the art of quality craftsmanship. The detail and the finish.

Freshly painted and restored sash windows can be a prominent and beautiful feature of your home, and will help retain their character and heritage for many years to come.

Sash window painting and restoration work is where the true art of sash window renovation and restoration takes place. The most labour and time intensive part of the renovation and restoration process, but with the most rewarding visual results. We achieve these fantastic results through thorough preparation and care. From stripping down sash window boxes to glazing bar restoration, with the correct tools and skills fantastic results are achieved.

We offer our painting service along side our draught-proofing, repair, double glazing, and replacement sash services. We can complete the painting and restoration work on site while the windows are dismantled. This allows a much more thorough and detailed pre-painting preparation and, in most cases, allows us to complete the work without the need for scaffolding.

Sash windows provide a complicated mix of substrates to consider during the painting process from different types of timber, putties, existing paint finishes, glazing, and different types of surrounds to take into consideration. We are active members of dedicated painting forums such as www.painterspitstop.com and www.traditionalpainter.com which allows us to keep up to date with our research and development as the industry moves forward so we can continuously offer the best possible products and service.

We work with a number of quality paint manufacturers to help provide you with your preferred colour and sheen level on your sash windows. Our preferred and current recommended paint supplier is Benjamin Moore. We made the switch to Benjamin Moore paints after in depth research led us to this fantastic company and there excellent products. The main ‘sticking’ point (excuse the pun!) is the technology and adhesion resin formula of Benjamin Moore paints. The first non alkyd paints which confidently provide glass adhesion and also work with modern advancements in hybrid putty and epoxy resin technologies . Other notable mentions to Techno paints which are used on our Accoya sash windows, Techno being designed along side Accoya, make them a perfect match. Jotun Demi-deck also has produced some fantastic adhesion result, and for full high gloss finishes our old favorites Sikkens and Sandtex are still available.

In our quest to constantly improve our product and services we have incorporated dustless sanding and dust extraction into our pre-painting preparation. Although sash window prep can still be a messy job dust extraction has helped reduce the amount of fine air borne dust particles in the preparation process, better for your home, better for the environment, better finish!

We constantly remain in discussion with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure we are providing the best products and solutions.
