Cheltenham Sash Windows

Cheltenham is a fantastic vibrant town brimming with regency heritage. As well as being the home of jump racing and Cheltenham festival. It is famous for its architecture and regency buildings such as the Pittville Pump Room and The Town Hall. We have enjoyed many family shows at the Everyman Theatre. It is blessed with many fantastic shops and is full choice for amazing restaurants and eateries, catering for every taste.

With the accolade of ‘Britain’s most complete regency town’ it certainly has plenty of windows for us to repair, renovate, and restore. Cheltenham is one of our main service areas and we are proud to help maintain its glorious regency heritage with our high quality, detailed, and caring approach to sash window repair, renovation, and restoration.

Some of the areas Renosash has been showcasing our specialist skills include Lansdown Terrace, over looking the historic Lansdown Lane. The views are fantastic from the upper floors, looking across Gloucestershire and beyond. While the lower floors are blessed with high ceilings, grand tall georgian sash windows, some floor to ceiling sash windows up to 3.6 metres high, I am especially fond of the floor to ceiling venetian sash windows leading out on the balconies. I would imagine it is perfect for a morning coffee on a summers day, lifting the smoothly operating windows and stepping out into the cool morning air. Not far from Landsdown Terrace, we have Montpellier Street with bustling shops, and Lansdown cresent continuing the theme of tall Georgian architecture and large windows. Lansdown terrace also leads us further up Malvern Road, and onto Christchurch Road, and to the Tivoli area introducing more Victorian style of single pane windows with large sheets of glass, along side the prominent Georgian buildings further along on Tivoli Road.

We have the grand and beautiful Clarence Square and Wellington Square, stunning 4/5 story buildings over looking calm relaxing squares in the centre, parking can be an interesting game, and the stairs provide some good exercise when carrying tools to the top. Predominantly Georgian Sashes over looking Clarence Square. As we move over to Wellington Square we see a few more single pane sash windows, some built into curved stone arches.

Not far from these great square’s we have Pittville, a large area running predominantly between Pittville Lawn and Evesham Road. We have had the pleasure of repairing, renovating, and restoring some gorgeous Gothic style Georgian sash windows on Clarence Rd, over looking the grand gates and entrance to Pittville Park, along with Georgian sash windows in Ellenborough House which proudly stands next to the gates.

Moving away from Lansdown, Montpellier, and Pittville area’s. We have the grand buildings along London Road, my recent favorites are the Georgian Terrace town houses stepping back from the main London Road, by Oxford St, and Priory St. Flower baskets stepping out from the first floor, floor to ceiling 12 pane sash windows. Moving up the exposed Cotswold stone to smaller 4 and 6 pane windows. Further back from here behind London Road we have the Sydenham area which is home to some of my dream home combinations of red brick houses with sash windows (Ties my own up bringing in a Northern red brick town, perfectly with my chosen specialty of sash window renovation).

On the other side, we pass through Leckhampton Road which feels wonderfully like a miniature town in its own right. With coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and my personal favorites The Natural Grocery Store, and The Big Fish. We have had the pleasure of restoring sash windows along Grafton Road, Painswick Rd, Francis Street, and Clare street. Moving us nicely along to the Naunton Lane, and Fairfeild area’s proudly displaying victorian style sash windows with many of the houses there I often liken to a Tardis. Displaying a modest number of windows in a two and three story terraced setting, occasionally with large bay windows on the ground floor, once inside they seem to go on for eternity, revealing large multiple reception rooms, often light extended kitchens and diners, opening up to wonderfully sized gardens. Moving up stairs, again they seem to go on further than imagined, with large bedrooms, and occasionally large converted attic rooms. This area is also home to one of our favorite joiner’s in Bloxham Joinery and glass suppliers in CS Glass. Although this reminds me to not forget to mention the fantastic services and wavy Georgian Glass Provided by Dave at Tivoli Glass.

Moving past Naunton, Fairfeild, and Mead Road Industrial Estate. We have the Charlton Kings are, which connects Leckhampton Road, Cirencester Road, and London Road. With lots of little winding twisting cut through roads, leading between. Charlton Kings is an another area, that is home to my personal favorite combination of red brick house and sash windows.

Moving further out, we also have other famous and beautiful areas full of heritage and sash windows such as Prestbury, and Winchcombe next to the famous Sudeley Castle.

Renosash will continue to provide the full service of sash window repair, renovation, restoration, and painting to the town and its surrounding areas.
